Magical Girl Melody Teaser by davidfoxfire Magical Girl Melody Teaser by davidfoxfire
I said I wanted to get the enthusiasm back into my comic strips. I'm looking for multiple ways to do this, including looking for an additional table to draw on, improving my day schedule, using ink (big duh there) and so on. But there's also this series I've had in my head for some time now, ever since Pippkin dolled Melody up in her own Magical Girl outfit to sneak around in. A series of adventures focusing on Melody as one of those "Magical Girls" (like Sailor Moon, Princess Tutu, and Shugo Chara) but without any real "Magical Power," she had to improvise. More often than not she has to use Stealth to get the job done. Think of the series as "Maho Gear Shojo" or "Magical Girl Solid"

I don't know when I'll start on this series or what format it'll be in. I'm still in the current chapter of Scarlet PI, and maybe I'll make a short bit with Melody in between chapters to keep my enthusiasm fresh. Or something like that.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to tweak this idea, or if you have any questions, please let me know. It's only in an idea stage right now, and any comment can help me prod something out of it.

I think that the meta-technology of the costume is a strong enough sci-fi element (assuming it is JUST sci-fi, then again, "mind over Matter") you don't need to thrown in a portal gun clone, too great a strain on the suspension of disbelief.

Yeah, I'll probably be ditching the portal gun, and have something closer to the motief

Good. And it's too close of a rip off to be considered a homage anyway.

On an ironic note, Scarlet when she bounded with Mike =and her AI began slowly to fuse with his, after all, a heathy mind can NOT have two awareness' in one brain, of course this leaves some nasty suggestions for Melody's mother= she made a clear comment on how her host never gave her a chest like that before... so the question is where the mass came from. Nothing comes from nothing.

HERE'S A REALISTIC QUESTION: how much experience does ANYONE have with taking these costumes off? The host supposedly are already dead or as good as dead by the time they're removed in light of a new host.

Sure Mike has removed Scarlet's head on occasion, but he hasn't exactly been regularly removing the rest of her.

The hosts are used up husks when the costumes are removed before. And we haven't seen what is done with them afterwards (or how they're disposed of).

So whose to say Mike's system isn't becoming dependent on Scarlet?

Since mother is fixated on getting her child hood back and cheating the world of adults of her membership, it would make sense if she was trying to figure out a way to shrink herself down into the body of a child. Or even copy her mind onto an AI costume so she can have a sort of true second childhood by then fusing that costume with a child host and keeping the child from aging in that time.

A better question: WHY would hosts wear out? Keep them fed and bathroom breaks and a good medical once in a while and they should last decades.

Unless Mike is cutting his life-span short by YEARS the longer he's wearing Scarlet.

A wise man (maybe) once said, take everything with a grain of salt. Take all criticism objectively. Ignore ones that simply say something is bad because it's bad. And take into account the ones that actually give information.

....... And accept the ULTIMATE TRUTH. You're going to die of old age like anyone else, so you need to chose the ONE PROJECT you're going to work on all the way before you croak. Otherwise you'll be finished with a swarm of half-finished projects... like me.

perhaps you've noticed(i have!),magical girls gop around in teams(sailor moon, tokio mew mew, etc). melody can't be the only one enslaved by the park. at least two others should be freed, then trained.each member should have different skills/personalities

I was thinking about the same thing. Maybe the first story would be where she finds a partner to go along with her first cutie gun. I was thinking that she would be found by a rival company or corporation and, after hearing her out and wishing to be in her good graces, shows her a few tricks to do. Maybe a "Magical Girl" Conglomerate run by former Magical Girls of old. Serena Tuskino in a 'Luna' Role, anyone? (Okay, bad choice of character for someone like me, but hey, if Tommy Oliver can slide into Zordon's spot in Dino Thunder . . . )

It's still in the idea stage and any and all suggestions and ideas would be greatly appreciated.
