One:  As Phelixx already knows by now, which I'm making public as of right now:  Anyone who links to the Encyclopedia Dramatica article on me will be immediately reported to the DA admins.  The result will be a suspension or a ban.  I don't mind people making {retard}Lul-lul-lul-lul{/retard} sites on me, but I do draw the line at Porn, and when you link to that site from this page or anywhere else in my site (including the FoxFire Studios message board as well as this page) you will be linking from this site to porn.  And that, my friends, will be a violation of the Terms of Service here.

Two:  Does anyone know what the heck happened to seaweedprincess?  She was a valued supported to me and now she's banned.  What the heck happened?

David, besides the ED article, what was the last, really, really serious attack against you? I forgot.

There wasn't an open attack against me in quite a long time. In fact, part of me is expecting one in a while. It's just that the ED article contains porn on it, and I don't think that the DA Admins want people linking from their DA accounts to porn. Plain and simple.

I just had to put my foot down on this one.

Apparently, Chase isn't even the one reporting all the people that comment on his page. The administrators themselves are watching his front page and merely banning anyone they see posting anything that could even be considered remotely offensive.

Oddly enough, most of them don't even seem to bother to go into the thousands of comments on his art, leaving people that have said worse untouched. The way they see it, if you say anything that would be trying to hold the situation up for ridicule, you've aligned yourself as a soldier in a campaign of harassment. "Coordinated harassment" was the charge they've been using on the Deviant's they've banned, and they've bypassed the ToS's standards of at least sending a warning before finally coming down to a ban for the sake of their "zero tolerance policy."

Basically, even though Chase's behavior on DA is certainly not acceptable, the administration is not acting any better by taking an almost authoritarian stance on it. They're right that Chase isn't at fault for all the banned members... but the admins overreacting is.

Damn. This is what I call a worse case scenario. Nothing good would come from this kind of situation, much less any improvement in Chase's art style. Part of me shudders to think that _I_ could be in the center of something like what Chase is in. (You should've seen me during the late 90s. I know what "Coordinated harassment" really is.)

I think you, e-Terrorist, would understand my erring on the side of caution with my devs, with the way I pop up the mature rating flag on items that only skirt the envelope and not go totally into "Aristocrat Territory." I even tell the Admins in the descriptions to let me know what needs to be fixed. (Since I'm a paying subscriber--meaning, a customer--keeping me around is in their best interest, wouldn't you say?)

I make steps to ensure that the Admins have more important things to do than worry about Davey-kins. In fact, what happened with the first part of this article was the very first time I've ever reported somebody. It's not something I'd want to do all the time.

I wonder what I can do to get Seaweedprincess unbanned. I'm certain she has a lot of good references.

I do not think, considering your work, that you have much to worry about the mature rating. However, I cannot blame you for some of the paranoia you may have.

Currently she has been exchanging PMs with an administrator, though she says that they have been largely unsympathetic to her situation. It seems to be a case of grossly disproportionate punishment in an effort to suppress a wave of attacks on a single user, almost overcompensating for the inability to control the wildfire that is chasethehedgehog's situation, and it has not only been inflicted upon her, but many, many other deviants who did not deserve it.

I can imagine this situation would not be this bad has Chase handled his sudden infamy with more grace. Perhaps /b/ would not have chosen to bother with him. It's not worth it to speculate now.

I understand. I can't help but feel for Chase though. Like I said, I know how it's like to be flamed en masse. It's easy to get paranoid and overreact. It gets worse when you spend more time trying to put out a fire that seems to get worse with each move than you spend making newer stuff. (And as I mentioned earlier, even removing your account won't help, because of their tendency to flame people to death and then flame them for dying.)

In the meantime, please tell her to get in touch with me. My E-mail and IM accounts are available. I'd like to hear from her again.

Of course.

She herself is still a bit paranoid, really. I can't really blame her. Almost all of her archived comics were here on DA.
